Restoration of Castle Stone Walls

Box-type Retaining Walls are flexible leaning retaining walls that were developed on the basis of the concept of the stonewalls of castles still standing across Japan. One of the characteristics of the Retaining Walls is that the box bodies are stacked at the temple roof slope.
In the work of restoration of the castle walls carried out in the Kyoto Prefecture Fukuchiyama Castle Park in 2000, Tanba stones were used to restore the stonewalls in the shape of the temple roof slope by using the traditional civil engineering construction method.
